Program Overview:

Selected candidates will be offered a fully funded two-year internship program, during which they will be placed in renowned international couture houses. This immersive experience is designed to provide advanced training in couture design, production techniques, and brand identity development.

As our Nawa Designer, you will work with leadership on the creative vision and design direction for our collections, based on our data-driven approach and tools.


Your role is pivotal in developing cohesive designs that resonate with our target market and trends, as well as elevate our brand's positioning in the market. You will inspire and lead to deliver concepts that align with our brand's aesthetic, ensuring excellence in every aspect of product development from concept to final production.


Qualifications

Develop creative concepts, moodboards and collections that reflect the brand's aesthetic and resonate with the target market.

Oversee the design process from concept development to technical drawings and Tech Specs to final product, ensuring adherence to quality, fit, and aesthetic standards. Communicate design concepts and patterns to facilitate the sampling and production processes. 

Continuously plug into our forecasting tool and in parallel analyse fashion trends, market insights, social listening and consumer preferences to inform design decisions and foster innovation in product offerings.

Work closely with pattern makers to ensure accurate garment construction and fit during fittings and production.

Work closely with the data we have to identify patterns of sales and incorporate other data points to develop processes that dictate and support the design of collections and items.

Foster creativity, skill development, and a collaborative culture within the team.

Review and approve samples and final products to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards, and brand guidelines.

Collaborate closely with tech/digital product, marketing, and production teams to align on timelines and product development strategies.

Manage merchandising, suppliers and production partners to maintain cost targets and oversee material selections and garment construction.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

2-3+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on ready-to-wear.

Excellent understanding of garment construction, textiles, and ready-to-wear manufacturing processes.

Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
